Big Brother and your Money… Just how close is Big Brother watching You?

With the recent controversy over the public’s “right-to-know” in the case of the government’s monitoring international fund transfers, along with the uproar over the National ID act, one has to ask themselves; just how soon will the chickens come home to roost, if Americans continue to take a laissez-fare attitude towards their religious and economic freedoms? If the intrusion of Big Brother in their everyday lives continues to escalate, one has to ask themselves… just how far away is the day when Americans will have to make a choice between God and State and take a mark that will dictate whether or not if they can buy or sell?

Fear and Loathing in Darfur.....

What about the children? When there's no Oil or Water to appease the world, who will stand up for the Oppressed?

Within the last 50 years or so, one basic unspoken requirement for engaging in war and peacekeeping has been the "WFIM" (What's In It For Me?) factor. When a nation has a rich supply of Oil or is near a seaport, you can be sure that the world will be standing by with cash and troops in hand, to do the 'right thing.' But what happens when the country is an overlooked African nation that seems as if it has nothing to bargain with, such as Dafur? Will the world come readily with 50,000 troops ready to stop the rape and killing of men, women, and children, or will the problem continue to be neatly swept underneath the rug with just a mention here or there? Described as one of the most horrible sites of genocide and religious oppression in recent history, Darfur has become the #1 nation on the world's watch list, but unlike IRAQ, hardly anything is being done to protect the thousands of Christians who are being persecuted by African Muslims seeking to purge them from the country. If this tragedy continues to occur, we may to start saying that Oil and Water do indeed mix...
